With a planter with a natural tree and an egg sculpture made of polymer plaster, the architects ensured that every detail of the interior contributes to the overall brand experience.
Belgrade architectural studio Lark signs interior project which was designed with the aim of adapting the premises at 6 Woodrow Wilson Boulevard into a modern brunch restaurant under the name Eggz.
The project task that was presented to the architects Lazar Denda and Teodoro Marković it included the transformation of the space into a functional restaurant that includes a seating area, a food counter, two kitchens, toilets for guests and employees, as well as two storage rooms.
The total area of the space amounts to 73 square meterswhich for the authors of the project represented a significant challenge in terms of organization and design in order to ensure it comfort for guests and employeeswith the fulfillment of all requirements from the project assignment.

The spirit of the brand conveyed through the project
As they explain from the Lark bureau, the main goal was to convey the spirit of the brand through the project, following the “all day breakfast” concept.
“Parallel while we were working on interior designthe branding team defined visual identity and brand messagewhich had an impact on the aesthetic and functional aspects of the project. Our team is carefully integrated these elementsensuring that every detail of the interior contributes to the overall experience of the brand”, state the architects.
In the center of the community table there is a planter with a natural tree 280 centimeters high, which is also the main motif in the space.
Organization of the seating area it is divided into three units: a long bench, a community table and two bar tables, while the architects wanted each part of the space to have its own authenticity.
“Community tablewith a diameter of 200 cm, was made from one piece of woodand in its center there is a planter with a natural tree 280 cm high, which is also the main motif in the space”, they say from Lark and add:
“It was not easy to find wood of suitable dimensions, which can survive in a closed space where food is prepared. The facilitating circumstance is that there is space plenty of natural light throughout the day“, the authors further explain.
The bar tables are also cantilevered, because in this way the authors wanted to visually relieve the space, while all the chairs in the restaurant are made by MOD.
The bench is built on a steel substructure that carries round, console tablesand behind it is a planter with natural greenery.
It is hung on the wall above the bench a large egg sculptureheight 120 cm, made of polymer plaster.
The bar tables are also cantilevered, because in this way the authors wanted to visually relieve the space, while all the chairs in the restaurant are made by MOD.
The influence of one unit on another
The dominant element in the Eggz restaurant area is a large counterbehind which it is located open kitchen.
“The investor, who is a professional chef with rich experience in the country and abroad, demanded spacious kitchen with one open areawhere guests can watch the food preparation process, and one closed kitchen“, explained from the Lark bureau.
They add that everything is designed in accordance with HACCP principleswhich guarantees high standards of hygiene and food safety.
“The ceiling of the bar was lowered above the kitchen and technical rooms, and the transition from the full height was made through the road slopes above the counterwe wanted to achieve the influence of one unit into another,” the architects point out.
Muta's DIN collection has special curved corner tiles, which the architects installed on the counter and wall at the entrance.
The floor, walls and ceiling of the corridor have been finished microcementwhich the authors achieved monolithic appearance of space. Microcement has a high wear resistance and is easy to clean and maintain.
They broke the cold undertone of the material the warmth of oak wood and vintage Mudina tiles from EuroDOM with which the counter and accented walls in the space are covered.
“Muta's DIN collection has special curved corner tiles, which we installed on the counter and the wall at the entrance. This is what we wanted to achieve visual continuity and fluidity of space“, they state from the Belgrade studio.
The wall lamps were hand-made in Struja, according to the wishes of the architects, in order to complete them with the lighting above the bench.
The curved shape of the tiles allows for smooth they pass between surfacesgiving the space a modern and sophisticated look.
“They are the accent in the space yellow door hingewith an egg-shaped window, which separates the space for guests and employees, further emphasize the playfulness and creativity of the concept,” say the architects.
Finally, there is the lighting, which the authors of this project acquired in Struja.
“Lodes lamps which are located above the console tables near the bench, they exude the spirit of the place. The wall lamps were hand-made in Struja, according to our wishes, in order to complete them with the lighting above the bench”, Lazar Denda and Teodora Marković emphasize at the end.
